According to the New Testament, elders are responsible for the spiritual leadership and oversight of a church. Central Christian Church elders are expected to serve the congregation whenever a need is evident. Their personal responsibility as an elder is that of any member – and more. They are expected to serve and “minister” to their fellow members as well as to the many others touched by the church’s mission.
